Chelsea and Arsenal fight over Bayern Munich star and World Cup winner

The player in question is none other than Thomas Muller, with English publication 'The Mirror' reporting that both clubs had enquiries for the striker knocked back in the summer, along with Liverpool.
The 27-year-old's future is far from certain in Bavaria after a disappointing campaign last time out.
The 2016/17 season saw him manage just five goals in 29 Bundesliga games, showing how his form dropped off a cliff following his return of 20 in 31 the season before. His loss of form saw him drop down the pecking order at the Allianz Arena, though he has returned to the starting line-up so far this season.
The same source reports that both Chelsea and Arsenal are set to return with fresh approaches for the player in January, though it is thought that his current employers are not ready to part with him quite yet.
Muller is under contract with the German champions until 2021, meaning that it would take some offer to convince them to sell. However, given the Premier League's financial muscle, both sides are more than capable of doing so.
