The Bishop of Orlu Diocese, Most Rev. Augustine Ukwuoma in Imo state has said that the Roman Catholic Church is planning to establish a new university.

The Bishop who spoke with newsmen at Awo Omamma in Oru East Local Government Area ahead of the foundation laying ceremony said the university will be situated at Awo Omamma in Oru East Local Government Area.
The institution which will be named Trinitas University according to the Bishop was borne out of a need to instil moral values among youths.
Ukwuma said the church is taking the bold step in obedience to Jesus Christ's mandate “to teach all nations and the present need in the society where millions of candidates yearly seek admission into the few universities in the country”.
The prelate according to report also said the Roman Catholic Church is known for the establishment of schools, colleges and universities, adding that almost all the earliest universities in Europe and other parts of the world were established by the church.
He, however, said that with Trinitas, Nigerian youths would not be trained to become employees but employers of labour, because the acquisition entrepreneurial skill is one of the goals of the university.
