The INEC chiarman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has revealed that the 2019 General Elections scheduled to hold on 16 February 2019 would no longer be feasible.

This he made known during a briefing with the newsmen at the commission headquarters in abuja.

The postponement which he revealed was as a result of the commission interest in conducting a free, fair and credible elections.

He therefore announced that the Presidential and National Assembly elections was re-scheduled to hold on February 23, 2019.

He also said that the governorship and state assembly elections would hold on March 9, 2019, a week later to the former date.
